Interesting that they are both talking about managers, not leaders. I wasn't very taken with the PI list either, but then I figured out that the person they're talking about would make a great manager, according to the person supervising the manager. What executive wouldn't want their managers to have a great work ethic, be honest, and have a good sense of humor for when they get the bad news that their staff isn't getting any wage increases this year? My old company, which still has a few leftovers from the Jurassic era in upper management, used PI as their go-to for leadership development and this pretty much explains why.
